Hong Kim is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ToonBox Entertainment.
Since establishing the studio in 2008, Hong Kim has played an important role within the studio’s productions as the key creative in developing the company’s project slate. As President and Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kim oversees the production, management, and finance functions and teams.
Previous to launching ToonBox Entertainment, Hong Kim is a predominant veteran in the animation industry for over 30 years. Hong Kim worked on leading Hollywood titles such as Space Jam (1996), Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997), Joseph: King of Dreams (2000), Tom & Jerry (2006) and more.
Hong Kim was instrumental to ToonBox Entertainment’s growth where he led many of the studio’s franchises, especially working closely with projects as Executive Producer, particularly, the award-winning 3D animated short, Nuts and Robbers (2011). Further, for the children’s television show, Bolts & Blip (2010 – 2011), which is known for being the first 3D stereoscopic children’s show and has aired in over 80 territories worldwide.
Most recently, Hong Kim produced ToonBox Entertainment’s first 3D/4D animated feature, The Nut Job (2014), which stars Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Katherine Heigl and Maya Rudolph. Hong Kim is currently in the midst of developing new projects as well as leading ToonBox Entertainment’s recent and upcoming productions, Spark (2016) and The Nut Job 2 (2017).
He was known for working on countless commercial projects for Snickers, Dentyne, Monopoloy, Walmart, Robaxacet and Pine-Sol.
